Job Description:
He should be specialized in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of low voltage or low current electrical systems and equipment. These systems operate at lower electrical currents and are commonly used in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The role of a Low Current Technician is hands-on and involves working with a variety of low voltage technologies and systems.

He should work closely with Low Current Engineers, electricians, project managers, and other professionals in the construction, technology, and electrical industries. He is responsible for analysing, preparing the BOQ and implementing the designs and plans created by engineers and ensuring that systems operate correctly and safely.

He should have a good understanding of electrical principles and low voltage technologies, be skilled in using various tools and equipment, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

Area of Expertise:
Security Systems: Installing, configuring, and maintaining security systems such as access control, CCTV (closed-circuit television), intrusion detection, and alarm systems to ensure the safety and security of buildings and properties.
Fire Alarm Systems: Installing, inspecting, testing, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure they function correctly and can quickly detect and respond to fires or other emergencies
Communication Systems: Setting up and maintaining low voltage communication systems, including data cabling, intercoms, phone systems, IP Phones and public address systems, to facilitate effective communication within buildings and organizations.
Audiovisual Systems: Installing and servicing audiovisual equipment, such as sound systems, projectors, screens, and video conferencing systems, for use in presentations, entertainment, and communication.
Structured Cabling: Installing, testing, and maintaining structured cabling systems to support data and telecommunications networks, ensuring reliable connectivity for voice and data services.
Access Control Systems: Implementing and managing access control systems that restrict and monitor access to specific areas or resources within a facility.
Networking and IT Infrastructure: Assisting with the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and data center equipment, to support data communication and internet connectivity.
PA System Installation: Install and set up Public Address (PA) systems for broadcasting announcements, background music, and emergency notifications. Configure amplifiers, speakers, microphones, and other audio equipment to ensure optimal performance.
MATV System Installation: Install and configure Master Antenna Television (MATV) systems to distribute television signals to multiple outlets within a building or facility.
Set up distribution equipment, including antennas, amplifiers, splitters, and cabling.
Troubleshooting and Repairs: Identifying and resolving technical issues, malfunctions, and system failures in low voltage systems, often through diagnostics and equipment repair or replacement.
Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring that all low current systems adhere to industry standards, safety codes, and regulations, and documenting compliance as necessary.

Note: He should be able to analyze the requirement and drawings shared by the customer along with its technicality and prepare the BOQ for the quote. Also should be able to guide and support the implementation team to implement the same at the project.
