We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Planning and Cost Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and controlling costs using industry-leading software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are executed efficiently and within budget.
Project Planning:
• Develop comprehensive project schedules using MS Project or P6 software, considering all project phases, activities, and dependencies.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Identify critical path activities and potential risks, and develop contingency plans.
• Regularly update and maintain project schedules to reflect changes in scope, resources, or constraints.
• Monitor project progress and identify deviations from the schedule.
Cost Control:
• Establish project budgets and cost estimates in collaboration with project managers and finance teams.
• Track and analyze project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Monitor actual costs against the budget, identifying cost overruns or potential savings.
• Prepare cost reports and forecasts, providing accurate and timely information to project stakeholders.
• Implement cost control measures to mitigate risks and ensure effective cost management.
Reporting and Communication:
• Generate regular reports on project schedules, milestones, and progress.
• Communicate schedule updates, delays, and impacts to project managers and teams.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize resource allocation.
• Provide cost-related insights and recommendations to project managers and senior management.
• Present project schedules and cost reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Software Expertise:
• Utilize Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 software to its fullest potential for project planning and cost control purposes.
• Stay updated on the latest software features, enhancements, and best practices.
• Train and support project teams in the effective use of project planning and cost control software.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in using MS Project or Primavera P6 software for project planning and cost control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
