Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled, reliable, and proactive Handyman for a building. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to facility maintenance, including plumbing, painting, fixing, arranging, air conditioning and other utilities, and general maintenance.

The Handyman will be responsible for maintaining school facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment for students and staff at all times. This role will also require the ability to coordinate with other workers and manage the facility effectively.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance Tasks: Perform a wide range of maintenance duties including minor electrical, painting, and carpentry work. Ensure that heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are operational.

Plumbing: Handle minor plumbing work such as fixing leaky faucets.

Coordination and Management: Collaborate with other staff members to ensure that all areas of the school are clean and well-maintained. Coordinate with external contractors when necessary.

Cleaning: Perform regular cleaning tasks to maintain a high standard of hygiene in the school facilities.

Inspections and Repairs: Regularly assess the condition of the school building and grounds to identify areas that need repair or improvement.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and ensure that school facilities meet health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a handyman.
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
Experience in a maintenance role, including plumbing, painting, and HVAC systems.
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to coordinate with a team and manage a facility.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical stamina and dexterity.
Knowledge of general health and safety rules and legislation.
Working Hours:

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
