Description

Duties/Responsibilities:
Installs and/or replaces boiler safety systems and components.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions (i.e., electrical, gas, pneumatic, water, steam, etc.) in boiler systems.
• Determines needed repairs on boilers and related parts.
• Repairs leaking boiler tubes by re-rolling, re-tubing, or beading.
• Makes repairs on high voltage systems, electrical, and high temperature systems.
• Repairs, rebuilds, and replaces pumps, gages, and mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic valves.
• Cleans and repairs pressure vessels on heating and water systems.
• Repairs manhole and handhole rings, covers, piping, and other pressure parts of boiler systems.
• Removes manhole and handhole plates and washes out boilers.
• Checks fluid distribution (i.e., natural and liquefied petroleum (LP) gas, steam, hot water, oil, diesel,
etc.) systems for leaks, repair, or replacement.
• Performs preventive maintenance on boiler systems and pressure vessels.
• Conforms to safety standards, as prescribed.
• Performs other tasks related to the position, as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., General Educational Development (GED), foreign
equivalency, etc.).

must be maintained for the duration of the assignment.
• Proven experience as boiler technician at least 2 year
