Junior Planning Engineer (Civil Construction)
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Junior Planning Engineer to join our esteemed civil construction company. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring project planning, execution, and management, with a strong emphasis on understanding engineering drawings, site technical requirements, and basic quantity surveying. Proficiency in Excel is essential for this role, as it will be used extensively to analyze and present project data.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with senior planning engineers and project managers to create and update project schedules. Assist in establishing project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables.
2. Drawing and Documentation Management: Review and comprehend engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Ensure accurate documentation and distribution of construction plans to relevant stakeholders.
3. Creating Invoices: Prepare and generate invoices for completed project milestones and services rendered.
4. Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and track project progress against the established schedules. Identify potential delays or deviations and recommend corrective actions.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize Excel to analyze project data, including cost, progress, and resource allocation. Generate reports and presentations to communicate project status and performance.
6. Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and coordination among project teams, stakeholders, and management to ensure smooth project execution.
7. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential project risks, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize any negative impact on project timelines and costs.
8. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering and construction planning.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. Demonstrated experience using Primavera P6
3. 3-5 years of relevant experience in civil construction, preferably with exposure to project planning and management.
4. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction documents.
5. Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
6. Familiarity with basic quantity surveying techniques and cost estimation.
7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
8. Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
11. Adaptable and proactive with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
