Job Title: F&B Costing Supervisor
Job Summary:
The F&B Costing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the cost control process for the Food and Beverage department within a company. The incumbent is in charge of managing and developing systems, processes, and procedures to accurately track and control costs, identify areas for improvement, and ensure profitability. Additionally, the F&B Costing Supervisor collaborates with other departments, such as Purchasing and Finance, to provide accurate and timely information for decision-making purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Develop and implement cost control procedures and systems, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
2. Analyze financial data, identify trends, and highlight areas of concern or improvement for management evaluation.
3. Prepare and present reports, including cost analysis, profitability reports, and variance reports, to management and relevant departments.
4. Conduct regular audits of F&B outlets, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
5. Collaborate with the Purchasing department to maintain accurate and up-to-date cost information for all food and beverage items.
6. Assist in menu engineering, pricing strategies, and cost analysis for F&B outlets.
7. Develop and implement inventory control systems to minimize food and beverage waste and optimize inventory levels.
8. Monitor vendor performance and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance.
9. Train and coach F&B staff on cost control procedures, portion control, and waste prevention techniques.
10. Collaborate with the Finance department to forecast sales and expenses and participate in budgeting processes.
11. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between theoretical and actual costs, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis.
12. Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in F&B costing.
Requirements:
1. bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 4- 6 years of experience in F&B costing or a similar role.
3. Extensive knowledge of cost control principles and techniques within the F&B industry.
4. Proficient in using F&B costing software and Microsoft Excel.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
8. Ability to work well in a team and collaborate across departments.
9. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations is preferred.
10. A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
