Description

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Count, record, track, and classify assets.
2. Update the asset management system for type, quantity, location, and value of capitalized and
controlled assets, making appropriate database changes pursuant to classification criteria and
control procedures.
3. Identify and correct discrepancies in the coding of assets.
4. Identify assets previously not recorded and barcode non-coded assets.
5. Track and record transfers of assets between organizational units.
6. Reconcile capital and controlled assets in the management system to the general ledger on a weekly basis.
7. Schedule and conduct periodic physical inventory counts of capitalized and/or controlled assets.
Account for shortages and provide accountability documents for lost and/or damaged assets.
8. Monitor disposal approval workflows, including the management approval process.
9. Communicate approved disposal requests to warehouse and maintenance departments.
10. Assist departments and the company with asset issues.
11. Conduct analyses related to asset inventories, as requested by management. Prepare
departmental transfer, damage, disposal, and inventory balance reports and other asset
management reports, as required, for auditors, management, and other interested parties.
12. Identify and record records to archive & Assist business services with records management.
14. Enter Asset transfers in the asset management system and verify the information.
15. Assist with verification of surplus assets at the company to assets approved for disposal as time permits.

Qualifications:

Education, Certification & Experience:

Mechanical Diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years experience in the Inventory Management field.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

*Knowledge of basic accounting and purchasing procedures.
*Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems, automated barcode scanning systems, or similar inventory data recording technology.
*Ability to read and interpret policies.
*Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing.
*Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented.
*Ability to meet established deadlines.
*Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
