Job Description: Senior FOH Receptionist / Supervisor
Dry Ladies Beauty Company seeks a full looking for a dedicated and
passionate Salon Supervisor to oversee all operations in our salon in order to
ensure success in terms of customer satisfaction, profitability, efficiency, and
safety. As a supervisor you will be in charge of hiring, training, and dismissing
staff members. Your responsibilities will also include front desk management,
greeting customers, and showing them to their stylists. Answer clients’
questions, recommend services, and be in charge of client communication in
person, via phone, or in writing. Also, process payments and record
transactions in a cash register and salon management software.
Additionally, supervising staff, scheduling shifts, promoting our services, and
keeping updated records of expenses and revenues
To ensure success you should meet revenue goals, ensure client retention,
and build a solid client base. Ideal candidates will be empathetic, caring, and
professional, and have the ability to make others feel good about themselves.
Required Skills:
• Interpersonal skills: polite and well-mannered, well-spoken and
articulate and must always maintain professionalism, tact, and
discretion.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
and nonverbal communication skills will assist in assessing the needs
and wants of clients. Ability to handle customers’ requests and complaints with
grace.
• Problem-solving: Customers will ask for the best solution for their
problem, it is your role to solve their problem.
• Time management: manage staff schedules and to fill up diaries.
• Sales: to ensure success you should meet revenue goals, ensure client
retention, and build a solid client base.
• Team work: supervise and manage a team effectively
• Health and appearance: you must have the physical stamina to stand
on your feet for long periods of time throughout the day. You should
maintain a neat and polished appearance at all times.
Responsibilities:
• Greet clients on arrival at the salon
• Answer clients’ telephone calls, texts and emails promptly and
courteously
• Provide callers and clients with detailed descriptions of services and
products, packages, and hours of operation
• Offer complimentary drinks and refreshments to arriving customers
• Inform stylists about client’s arrival and for what services
• Welcome walk-ins, answer their questions about services, and
schedule appointments based on availability
• Look after the salon appointment schedule
• If not using SMS appointment reminders, call clients to remind them
of their appointment
• Call clients who are late for appointments and see if they are running
late or are a no-show
• Inform clients in advance if a staff member is not available and
reschedule their appointments
• Take deposits from client to confirm appointment
• Take payments from clients after their appointment
• Prompt clients to book their next appointment
• Ensure aftercare procedures have been explained by staff
• Notify customers about new offers and services of the salon on a timely
basis
• Up-sell salon retail products when taking payments
• Keep reception area clean, tidy, and free from hazards
• Respond to online reviews daily and pass feedback onto management
• Co-ordinate and help resolve client complaints
• Properly update clients records by adding email addresses and
telephone numbers, to the salon booking software
• Keep salon retail merchandising stocked and well displayed
• Order and get salon business cards, paper bags and stationaries.
• Check products in the salon to ensure that they are not out of stock,
and inform management of products in shortage in order for them to
place orders for more supplies
• Update salon inventory software records
• Oversee and update the salon’s social media outlets including
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and newsletters
• Perform salon opening and closing duties to include cash/credit
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work
environment
• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff
or customers that require attention
• Ensure the clients are serviced effectively
• Monitor customer experience within the salon. Welcoming clients in a
warm, friendly manner and thanking them sincerely on departure.
• Deal with general inquiries from staff and clients of the salon
• Monitor and ensure the hygiene and cleanliness of the salon
• Monitor and ensure the application of the safety standards of the salon
and legal regulations
• Manage client repeat booking rates to drive loyalty
• Lead the team by example
• Supervise staff and encourage teamwork
• Train staff to improve customer experience, product, and revenues
• Motivate staff to ensure that they are fully engaged
• Onboard new staff ensuring awareness of processes and procedures
• Control the salon recruitment needs and organize staff training
• Carry out disciplinary and dismissal when required
• Manage staff vacations according to policies
• Identify areas of improvement within the salon and provide possible
solutions
• Manage set budgets and revenues
• Create an annual marketing plan
• Assure that commercial targets are set, communicated to staff, and
achieved
• Arrange promotional activities to increase the number of customers
• Promote products, services, and programs
• Liaise with salon head office
• Control stock levels including inventories, and orders stock
• Prepare purchase orders, receives deliveries, and issues stocks
• Ensure that salon software is updated
• Check equipment regularly to ensure it is in good working order
• Track stock levels and manage stock loss and back bar
• Manage salon finances including petty cash, register close outs or
invoice payments
• Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working order
• Arrange salon maintenance, repairs and servicing of the equipment as
required
• Actively leading the salon staff in providing excellent services and Maximizing Profit.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of proven work experience as a Beauty Salon Supervisor or
similar role
• Advanced organizational skills to manage staff, operations and salon
finances
• Good knowledge of beauty treatments and products
• Basic bookkeeping knowledge
• Ability to supervise team
• Outstanding people skills and a warm, friendly manner.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
• Sales skills to sell products to clients.
• Speaks English.
• Additional certification in Beauty Therapy or Cosmetology is a plus
